It's finally the hols! I've been waiting for so, so long :) Not that the hols are gonna be all that fantastic, but a week/two weeks of not needing to get up at 6? YEAHHH!
Friday was the slackest last-day-of-school ever & for once, we were so glad C. Chua ponned ss! After school, I met Hazel, Mabel & Jacq for lunch @ Bishan! Gosh, I miss you guys so much! :D At j8, we walked around in search for fooood. Eventually, we decided to lunch at Cafe Cartel! (HAHAH RICH HAZEL & HER FIFTY BUCKS ;D) We sat down & looked thru the menu for like 10 minutes. Then Jacq was like, "Do you realize that we won't have time to eat?"
SO WE JUST STOOD UP AND LEFT! All eyes were on us & you can
totally imagine the embarassment :)
After swimcarn, Lingmin & I had dinner at Food Republic, Wisma. I missed my beloved Beef Noodles! Oh yeah I
almost left my retainers on the table! I only realized when we were approaching the bus stop :) ONGLINGMIN accompanied me to go search for them. I'm so glad I found them, or else I'd have to face all that nagging & maybe even fork out the $100+++!
OSL Selection Camp was probably the most memorable camp I've attended in school. It was tough, yet meaningful and truly enriching. Those who went will definitely agree with me :) On the first evening, we had ice-breakers, rock-climbing, something like a treasure hunt, group activities & tent-pitching. I'm so grateful for my wonderful groupmates, Chrisanda, Soffia, Esther & Claudia :D Love you guys!
At about 0015, they
finally allowed us to sleeeep. The 5 of us + our belongings (one huge bag & a sleeping bag!) squeezed into a cramped 4-man tent! It was so stuffy that we spent about 2 hours tossing & turning. At 3 am when we finally fell asleep, the mentors came to the field where we pitched our tents to wake us up. There was supposed to be a "FIRE", so we had to unpitch out tents & evacuate immediately. Obviously, we got scolded for have no
sense of urgency :) Then, we had to play some Acid River game. The whole team was supposed to cross the "Acid River" using just 5 bricks. After more than an hour, we were still unsuccessful. It was about 430 by then, & we were told to sleep till about 6 am. This time, 7 people + belongings were cramped into a 4-man tent :/
The following day was much better. The station games helped us to bond & we enjoyed them thoroughly :) Lunch was plenty of fun! Outdoor cooking = super dry instant noodles + raw cabbage + lousy match-lighting (& half a pack of broken matches :D) + yummy sausages + dead insects + being forced to finish up the food +
DIARRHOEA!!
Caterpillar-ing up the amphi was a great experience too! Especially cos my group was at the end of the caterpillar :) We had to caterpillar over the longest distance & we stayed in the sun for the longest time! I got tanner after that. I'm so glad we did it though :) Well done people, & thanks for the constant encouragement/support!
Although the camp was enjoyable, I was so happy when we finally got to go home. I was looking forward to my bath, for the first time in two days :)
Visited granny a few times over these two days. I'm glad that her knee op was successful & I hope that her pain goes away soon! (PAIN, PAIN, GO AWAY!) Oh yeah I need to check out what
Morphine really does to a person. It makes granny puke & lose her appetite! >:/
